The founder of the Natural Alchemist is Kevin Farrow. He is the author of several aromatherapy books and a book on toxic chemicals in cosmetics, SkinDeep - due out March 2002, Pub. Lothian Books Melbourne. He began working in aromatherapy as an organic gardener with herbalist & writer Nerys Purchon's Rivendell skincare company in 1979.

He has also trained in qi gong, reiki, polarity work, therapeutic massage, shiatsu and energy bodywork. He has spent three and a half years studying meditation at the Osho ashram in India.
