Essential Oils

We have released a range of quality native Australian Essential Oils.They are bottled in dark green glass bottles with drippers caps. Below are suggested uses for them. Many of these are reproduced with kind permission of Mark Webb from his book "Bush Sense - Australian Essential Oils & Aromatic Compounds".

Aniseed Myrtle - 10mL (Backhousia anisata) - RRP $28.95

This warm, spicy oil is very aromatic and smells strongly of aniseed. Native to Nambucca andBellingen Valleys in northeast NSW.

Suggested uses: Sedative (a few drops of a tissue in your pillowcase can help you sleep well) and stimulant for coughs, antiseptic, bactericide and insecticide. As Aniseed Myrtle has sedating properties when used in higher concentrations, it is recommended to use this pleasant oil in moderation.

Desert Rosewood - 10mL (Eremophilia mitchelli) - RRP $46.95

This delicate, woody oil can add a beautiful base note in an essential oil blend, or is great just on its own.This oil is distilled from wild harvested plants that grow in the dry mulga country of Far Western NSW.

Suggested uses: Research is still being done on this interesting oil, so for the moment just use it for the enjoyment of the aroma.

Eucalyptus Radiata - 10mL (Eucalyptus Radiata) - RRP $9.95

This lovely Eucalyptus oil is Australian, unlike the majority of Eucalyptus oil that are sold in this country which come from China. Native to the east coast of Australia (south of Qld).

Suggested uses: Good expectorant properties and is ideal for helping the body to clear respiratory catarrh.Also said to have antiseptic, bactericide and fungistatic properties.

Lemon Myrtle - 10mL (Backhousia citriodora) - RRP $13.95

This popular oil has a vibrant aroma of lemon with a menthol back note. It is native to rainforest on the south Qld coast.

Suggested uses: Common cold, influenza, bronchitis, indigestion and herpes simplex (topical). It has been found to be effective as relieving chest congestion. It also seems useful for improving concentration as well as being relaxing, uplifting emotionally and producing soothing sleep. Superb as an air purifier. Can be applied directly onto warts, otherwise always dilute before use as it may irritate.

Lemon Tea Tree - 10mL (Leptospermum petersonii) - RRP $10.95

This type of Tea Tree is a pleasure to use with a strong lemon overtone to the tea tree scent. It is native to the east coast of southern Qld and northern NSW.

Suggested uses: Has been found to help with the treatment of oily skin and acne. It is also an excellent insect repellent (add 30 drops to water in a 50mL spray bottle & shake). Other uses are for common cold, influenza, poor concentration, space cleansing and calming. Diffused into the atmosphere it has the ability to destroy moulds, fungi and bacteria.

Peppermint Gum - 10mL (Eucalyptus dives) - RRP $8.50

This oil has a refreshing peppermint note to its eucalyptus. It is native to SE Australia where is grows on the Great Dividing Range from west of Sydney to Melbourne.

Suggested uses: Blends well with Lemon Tea Tree for a massage blend or inhalation for bronchitis. It has also been found to be effective for colds, coughs, chest infections and other respiratory infections. As the oil is centering and calming, causing you to take slow, deep breaths, it has anti-asthma uses.

Strawberry Gum - 10mL (Eucalyptus Olida) - RRP $29.95

This milky coloured oil has a sweet delicate aroma of strawberries. This oil is distilled from wild harvested plants that grow in Western NSW.

Suggested uses: Research is still being done on this interesting oil, so for now just use it as a beautifully perfumed oil.
